It is our mission and purpose to be a part of the solution to the important problem of dog waste clean up. We encourage all dog owners to help contribute to a cleaner environment keeping our parks, beaches, and dog parks poop free.

A friend and I were walking our dogs when she began to complain about how gross and inconvenient it was to carry the dog poop.  She said in passing "I wish someone would come up with an idea so I don't have to carry this bag of poop." And like a light bulb coming on in my head, I saw the Pooch Pouch®. As I began to design and manufacture the first one, I had no idea of the important role it would play as a solution to a larger problem. The Humane Society of the U.S. (hsus.org) states that there are approximately 65 million owned dogs in the U.S.  -Please forgive the poop statistics, I present them here just to illustrate a point.-  According to a study posted on the nctcog.org web site the average dog produces 3/4 lbs. of waste per day. Imagine in the cities where the dogs have to be walked, and where the dog population reaches the hundreds of thousands, sometimes millions, the amount of poop could pile up. In some areas they have to make laws in order to manage the waste issue. Because, in a U.S.A. Today.com article by Traci Watson, several studies have shown that 40% of American dog owners do not pick up after their dogs...40%!  I suppose, that one of the reasons some owners don't want to pick up after their dog is because of it is inconvenient, and the idea of walking around with a bag of poop in their hands is not a pleasing one. But what a mess for all of us.

The Pooch Pouch® to the rescue!
